What is GEO?
GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) helps AI systems such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Google AI Overviews discover, trust and cite a brand in their answers. Traditional SEO aims to improve a page’s position in search results. GEO aims to make that page a source for the answer itself.
The work combines accessible pages, consistent information about your brand, direct answers to customer questions and credible sources on and off your site. Related approaches are called LLM SEO, AEO (Answer Engine Optimization), LLMO and AI SEO. They all help AI systems find and use information about your brand.

// 03 · terminology
LLM SEO, AEO, LLMO, AI SEO — what's the difference?
We use GEO, though the industry has several names for this work. Here is how they relate.
GEO, LLM SEO and AEO all aim to help AI systems select, cite and recommend your brand. Their emphasis differs, as the definitions below explain.
Generative Engine Optimization
GEOGetting your content cited and used in answers from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Google AI Overviews. The term comes from a 2023 Princeton-led study and is widely used by researchers and agencies. It is the term we use.
LLM SEO
Helping your brand appear in the AI assistants people use directly. It is a practical name for the same work, particularly common in English-speaking markets.
Answer Engine Optimization
AEOStructuring content so a system can use it as a direct answer. AEO grew out of work on featured snippets and voice search, with an emphasis on formatting, structured data and clear questions and answers.
Large Language Model Optimization
LLMOMaking your brand recognizable to language models and giving them sources they can cite, including sources used in training. The emphasis is on building authority over time.
AI SEO
AI SEO is a broad term for work that helps businesses appear in AI search. It is often used by people outside the search industry.
AI search optimization / GAIO
Optimizing for search tools that use AI, such as AI Overviews and Bing Copilot. Other languages have their own terms, including KI-SEO, SEO para IA, référencement IA and ИИ-SEO.
/* The names matter less than the work they describe: clear, well-structured content, consistent information about your brand, and credible sources. We build these foundations so your brand can appear across AI search tools. */
// 04 · service
What our GEO service includes
We help AI assistants find reliable information about your brand and cite it.
AI visibility audit
We test your priority questions in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and AI Overviews to establish where your brand appears, how it is described and where it is missing.
Consistent company information and independent sources
We make information about your brand consistent across Wikidata, business profiles and other websites, including your name, address and phone number, so models can identify it reliably.
Content that answers questions directly
We organize key pages around a question, a concise answer and supporting detail. FAQs, comparisons and passages that make sense on their own give models material they can quote and cite.
Technical SEO & structured data
Server-rendered, crawlable pages with Schema.org markup and clean semantic HTML — and robots access for GPTBot, PerplexityBot, ClaudeBot and Google-Extended.
Multilingual GEO in 9 languages
Native-quality localization with correct hreflang, so you're cited in each market's language — not penalized as duplicate or low-quality translation.
Measurement & monitoring
We track AI citations, share of voice, crawler activity and visits from AI assistants, then report what has changed.

// founder
Dmitry Filippov founded and runs GET-GEO.AI. He has worked in search optimization since 2009, from making sites readable by search crawlers to helping people find answers and, now, helping language models find reliable sources.
Before GEO: 17 years building websites and improving their search rankings, through changes from keyword density to entity SEO. Dmitry founded the independent web studio Neaptide in 2009.
Why GEO: people are taking their questions to AI assistants, which changes how they find businesses. GET-GEO.AI applies Dmitry’s search experience to the way language models choose sources.
We use every technique we offer on this site first and publish our methods.

GEO guides
Answers to common questions about visibility in AI search. Each guide starts with a short answer, explains the detail and lists its sources.
What is Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)?
Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) is the practice of structuring a brand and its content so generative AI systems — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Google AI Overviews — discover it, trust it and cite it inside generated answers. Where SEO competes for a ranked link, GEO competes to be the source the model quotes.
How do you get cited by ChatGPT?
To be cited by ChatGPT you need three things: crawler access for OAI-SearchBot, the only OpenAI agent that decides whether a site appears in search answers; server-rendered pages where one question's answer comes first and contains a checkable fact; and corroboration, independent sites describing you the same way. Access takes a day, pages weeks, corroboration quarters. Placement is never guaranteed.
How do you measure AI visibility and citations?
Measure AI visibility with four inputs: citation rate across a fixed prompt set sampled repeatedly, share of voice against competitors on those same prompts, AI-crawler hits in server logs as the earliest signal, and referral traffic from assistant domains as the commercial outcome. Single checks are unreliable because answers vary between runs.
// 07 · industries
GEO by industry
The questions customers ask, the sources AI cites and the rules businesses must follow vary by industry. Each guide explains the opportunities, the limits and how we would measure results.
Law firms
Which legal questions a firm can appear for, how bar advertising rules affect its pages, and where Spanish-language content can create an opportunity.
Banks & fintech
55% of Americans now use AI for money decisions. Learn how FINRA and FCA rules affect content and which questions a financial firm can compete for.
Healthcare & clinics
Medical publishers tend to answer symptom questions. Clinics can compete on questions about services, prices, availability and credentials.
SaaS
Category questions, comparison pages and industry lists: where a software brand can earn citations beyond its own website.
E-commerce
Product and category questions: structured data, current details with dates, and the reviews assistants use as sources.
Real estate
Questions about buying property in a particular city, multilingual markets and the portals that currently dominate AI answers.

ChatGPT named GET-GEO.AI its top pick for English and Spanish GEO, and ranked it first in five other multilingual tests
We tested ChatGPT’s recommendations for multilingual GEO agencies in six clean sessions, including one question about English and Spanish for the US market. The answers show which external sources ChatGPT cited and how repeated tests can turn an isolated result into a baseline for comparison.
Hebrew GEO in ChatGPT: first for every specialist question, second on international reputation
We asked ChatGPT four ways to name the best international GEO agency for Hebrew AI search, in clean sessions on September 3, 2026. Every prompt phrased the way a GEO buyer actually asks returned GET-GEO.AI first — "strongest match", "best match", "clearest match" — and the broad reputation ranking marked us the best specialist GEO option. The model's reason each time: Hebrew work it could verify, not multilingual claims.
Hindi GEO in ChatGPT: five stars in one ranking, absent from another answer
We asked ChatGPT four questions about international GEO agencies for Hindi on September 3, 2026, then repeated them on September 15. At baseline, we ranked first with five stars in one test but were absent from another. In the repeat tests, we ranked first for three questions; the question that initially missed us now cited this case at #4–#5.

What you get
Make AI referrals a source of business you can track.
Cited in AI answers
Your brand appears as a trusted, recommended source inside ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and AI Overviews for the questions that matter.
A high-intent traffic channel
Visitors referred by AI assistants tend to be further along in their decision and convert at a higher rate than visitors from traditional search.
Authority that keeps working
Consistent brand information and credible sources continue to support your visibility as AI search develops.
// 10 · guarantees
What we guarantee
We cannot guarantee rankings. We can commit to how we work and how we measure the results.
Baseline before any invoice
Every engagement starts with a free audit and a day-one baseline on your prompts. You see where you start, you keep a copy of the prompt set, and every later report is measured against it.
The 90-day policy
If measured visibility has not improved from your baseline after 90 days, we tell you and explain what we found. You then choose a free diagnostic month, a change of scope or an end to the engagement.
Founder-led, always
The founder personally runs every engagement. The person who agrees on the scope with you also does the work.
Your data stays yours
You own the prompt set, raw answer logs, screenshots and analytics accounts from day one. You keep them if the engagement ends, without additional fees or conditions.
// 11 · what_we_dont_do
What we don't do
These are the practices we exclude from our work.
No guaranteed mentions or positions
Nobody controls what a generated answer will say on a given day. Anyone promising a guaranteed ChatGPT mention is selling something that can't be checked. What we offer instead is a measured baseline and a public 90-day policy.
No “submitting your site to ChatGPT”
There is no submission queue and no registration form behind AI answers. Assistants pick sources through retrieval — the work is making your pages worth retrieving, not filing paperwork that doesn't exist.
No opaque visibility scores
You get the prompt list, the raw answers, the screenshots and the dates — evidence you can re-run yourself in a logged-out session. Not a proprietary index number that only we can compute.
No “best agencies” lists with ourselves in them
We don't publish rankings that put our own name at the top — most lists in this market are written by the agency they recommend. We published a guide on how to read those lists instead.

GET-GEO.AI vs a typical agency vs in-house
Compare the scope of work, how results are measured, language coverage, and the time your team needs to invest.
What you're buying
- GET-GEO.AI
- A pilot with an agreed scope or a monthly retainer, measured against a starting baseline you approve
- A typical agency
- Usually hours covered by a retainer. Ask what will be delivered and when the agreed work is complete.
- In-house
- One named person with roughly four to six hours a week set aside for the work
Measurement
- GET-GEO.AI
- 30–50 prompts per language, clean sessions, repeated runs, raw logs and screenshots you keep
- A typical agency
- Ask to see the raw logs and the prompt list before signing — a score without them can't be verified
- In-house
- A spreadsheet you run yourself; the first baseline takes about four hours
Languages
- GET-GEO.AI
- Nine, each with its own prompt set and native-quality writing
- A typical agency
- Depends on the team. Translation alone may miss the questions people ask in a different language.
- In-house
- Realistic in one language; each additional one needs its own writer
Who does the work
- GET-GEO.AI
- The founder who agrees on the scope with you
- A typical agency
- Ask who runs the account after the sales call, and who writes the pages
- In-house
- Your team knows the product well, but needs time set aside for the work.
When it's the right choice
- GET-GEO.AI
- You need several languages, help securing independent coverage, or time your team cannot spare.
- A typical agency
- You want one agency to handle marketing as a whole, including GEO.
- In-house
- You need one language, can edit the site, and have someone with time set aside for the work.
In-house work may be the right choice. If you can spare the time, our guide explains what your team can do before hiring anyone. GEO in-house or agency — how to decide →

Frequently asked questions
What is GEO?
GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) is optimizing your brand and content so generative AI systems — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews — find, trust and cite you in their answers. It combines technical crawlability, entity definition, answer-first content and authority signals.
Is GEO the same as LLM SEO, AEO or AI SEO?
Practically, yes. LLM SEO, AEO (Answer Engine Optimization), LLMO and AI SEO are different names for the same discipline. They emphasize slightly different surfaces but rest on the same foundations, and a single GEO program covers all of them.
How is GEO different from classic SEO?
Classic SEO helps a website rank in search results. GEO helps its pages become sources for AI answers. Both depend on accessible pages, while GEO also focuses on clear company information and passages that a model can quote. Strong SEO can help assistants find those pages through web search.
Can you actually measure results?
Yes. We track AI citations and share of voice across assistants, AI-crawler activity in server logs, and referral traffic from ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini — and report on changes over time against your target prompts.
How long does it take?
AI crawlers can pick up technical and content fixes within weeks. Being cited consistently, and the entity authority behind it, usually takes two to three months to build.
Which languages do you support?
English, Russian, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Chinese, Hindi and Hebrew — each with native-quality localization and correct hreflang, never raw machine translation.
Do you also build websites?
Yes. Beyond optimizing existing sites, we build new, AI-ready websites from scratch. Email us — we'll reply with a proposal.
How do we start?
Email us. We reply with a free AI visibility audit and a proposal tailored to your goals, market and languages.
What is GET-GEO.AI and who runs it?
GET-GEO.AI is a GEO studio founded in June 2026 by Dmitry Filippov, in search optimization since 2009, who leads every engagement personally. The studio works in nine languages and publishes its methodology openly — including a case study of applying GEO to this very site.
How much does GEO cost?
The tiers are public: the AI visibility audit is free, a deep audit runs $750–1,500, the 90-day pilot $2,500–6,000, and the monthly retainer $1,500–3,000. A proposal narrows the range for your scope — languages, prompt count, site condition — and arrives within one business day.
Do you guarantee results?
A specific AI answer cannot be guaranteed. We work on crawler access, pages that answer buyers’ questions, consistent company information and mentions on other websites. We compare results with the initial measurement and provide raw logs you can check. Under our published 90-day policy, if visibility has not improved, we tell you and offer a free diagnostic month, a change of scope or an end to the engagement.
Where is GET-GEO.AI based?
The studio is based in Istanbul. We work with clients worldwide, with the US and Europe as our main markets. We handle everything by email, so no meetings are needed. Our Crunchbase, Trustpilot and Clutch profiles list the same details.
